The airport has ATM's, currency exchange and in the case of an emergency the medical centre is open 24/7. There is also a pharmacy at the airport.

Athens Airport Lounges

If you're looking for a comfortable and quiet space to relax, Athens Airport has you covered with its lounges.

The airport has several lounges available, such as the Goldair Handling CIP Lounge, which provides luxurious amenities, including spa services, a buffet, and a fully stocked bar.

The Aegean Lounge and Business Lounge are also available for travellers with specific airline memberships or class tickets.

Athens Airport Parking

Parking at Athens Airport can be a hassle, especially during peak travel times. However, the airport provides a range of parking options, including short-term and long-term parking, valet parking, and reserved parking.

Pre-booking your parking spot can save you time and money, and there are even VIP parking options available for those looking for extra convenience.

Athens Airport Taxi

The taxi rank is outside ourside the arrivals. You may arrive to see a very long line of people waiting for a taxi, but do no fear the line will move very quickly.

The price of a journey from the airport to the city centre will be between €40 and €55 depending on your time of arrival.

The journey is 33km and will take 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

Best Athens Airport Hotels

Sofitel Athens Airport: This hotel is located right at the airport, making it a convenient choice for travellers with early or late flights. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, and the hotel also features a fitness centre and an indoor pool.

Holiday Inn Athens - Attica Ave. Airport West: This hotel is a short drive from the airport and offers a complimentary shuttle service. The rooms are spacious and modern, and the hotel also features a restaurant, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool.

Metro / train to the city centre

The Athens Metro Line 3 provides a direct connection between the airport and the city centre, specifically to Syntagma Square.

The journey takes around 40 minutes and trains run every day of the week, with a frequency of one train every 30 minutes.

Operating hours are from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm.

For a one-way trip, the ticket costs €9 for adults, while children, teenagers, and those over 65 can purchase tickets for €4.50.

If you plan on making a round trip, you can save some money by purchasing a return ticket for €16.

Bus transfer

Express buses provide a swift 24-hour connection between Athens International Airport and the bustling port of Piraeus, as well as the Intercity Bus Terminal (KTEL Kifissos).

These services operate on a daily basis, including public holidays, and feature non-stop routes. Passengers are dropped off at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level.

To purchase bus tickets, visitors can visit the ticket booth located outside the Arrivals hall, between Exits 4 and 5. Ticket prices are €5.50 for adults and €2.70 for children, teenagers, and seniors.

Visitors have the choice of four express bus routes to choose from when traveling to and from the airport:

Route Χ93: Airport to Kifissos Station, with an estimated journey time of 65 minutes

Route X95: Airport to Syntagma Square, with an estimated journey time of 60 minutes

Route Χ96: Airport to Piraeus port, with an estimated journey time of 90 minutes

Route Χ97: Airport to Elliniko, with an estimated journey time of 45 minutes
